We help give a Chobham en-suite a spacious spa inspired transformation

Modernising and maximising space was at the heart of the brief

We help give a Chobham en-suite a spacious spa inspired transformation

When the owners of this en-suite in their Chobham home visited us their brief was quite simple – help us modernise the room and maximise the use of space.

We were happy to oblige and things started to take shape when they were initially drawn to the Porcelanosa wood effect Lexington Maple tiles we had on display in the showroom. With a typical spa-like style that choice would then start to shape the rest of the room’s design.

With their linear wood detailing, so often found in spas and saunas, the 45x120cm Lexington Maple tiles were selected to feature on most of the en-suite walls including inside the large walk-in shower space.

These wood effect large format rectified ceramic wall tiles feature a realistic grain, raised linear pattern and a matt finish, and let you bring the natural good looks of wood into a bathroom space completely worry-free.

The horizontal pattern of the tiles, which creates their wooden slat aesthetic, was also perfect to enhance the feeling of space in the room by accentuating the length of the walls, just what the owners were looking for.

These tiles were paired with contrasting Porcelanosa Ferroker Plantino tiles on the floor, adding a contemporary and bright tile into the space.

These porcelain tiles feature light grey tones, a matt-gloss finish and an Oxide effect which adds a subtle multi-shaded pattern to the tiles.

The large 59.6×59.6cm size of the tiles creates a seamless floor finish that really elevates the spaciousness of the room and reflects the natural light from the window to make the room feel bright and welcoming.

Installing a walk-in shower full-width along the back wall gave the couple maximum showering space which was the key functionality of the room.

The walk-in panel chosen for its minimalist appeal was the Kudos Ultimate walk-in panel, which also features toughened safety glass and a LifeshieldTM easy clean coating.

The striking overhead shower is our Hansgrohe Croma Select which delivers an invigorating shower experience, and this is paired with an Axor Starck Baton hand shower to add extra functionality into the shower space.

With a low profile, at a depth of just 560mm, the Villeroy & Boch Subway 3.0 twist flush WC was selected which slots into the space with no fuss, and being wall-mounted maintains the rooms spacious feel.

For the vanity unit storage space was essential so the en-suite could be kept uncluttered. The selected unit is our Calypso Levanto 1040 wall hung wing vanity unit in porcelain white.

Perfect to provide plenty of storage the unit includes one right handed door opening to a full height storage area and a further two large drawers, all with integral handles and soft close runners.

A Vernis Blend single lever basin mixer by Hansgrohe completes the basin set-up, and then the finishing touch to the design is our HiB Theme 60 illuminated circular mirror.

Themes soft backlight changes from radiant warm whites to icy cool whites at the touch of a button and the mirror also features a heated pad to reduce condensation.

The finished room feels like a luxurious spa retreat whilst making the most of the space to maximise showering and storage space.
