A feature wall created with illuminated stone-effect tiles takes centre stage in this bathroom design project

With a tired bathroom in desperate need of updating, our clients came to us excited to start the journey to transforming it into an inviting, warm and modern space that had the wow factor.

They found lots of inspiration browsing our showroom’s bathroom room-sets and were particularly drawn to our Coral Acero room-set which showcases a freestanding bath design with illuminated feature tiles.

When they sat down to start discussing plans with our bathroom designers, this became the main inspiration for the look they wanted to create in their new bathroom.

Inspired by that room-set, the starting point for the design was our Porcelanosa Coral Acero tile family.

The large format Coral Acero 45x120cm tiles feature on the walls, and 80x80cm tiles on the floors. They have introduced a soft, elegant and warm stone-effect base into the room. The use of the larger format tiles allows for a continuous pattern to be created which amplifies the feeling of space, instantly making the room feel so much more spacious.

Taking centre stage behind the tub is the Spiga Coral Acera feature tile. This decorative tile matches the same stone tones of the main tiles used, whilst adding extra depth and interest with their attractive textured herringbone pattern to form a beautiful feature wall, where the use of LED strip lights adds a further dimension and ambience to the design.

A BC Designs freestanding bath sits elegantly under the feature wall, with our Hansgrohe Metris Single Lever Floor-Standing Bath Mixer completing the look.

Helping to keep the space clutter-free, a Vanity Hall Double Inset Drawer Basin Unit was incorporated into the design, wall-hung with added illumination below. And then our HiB Exos 60 Illuminated Mirror Cabinet adds more storage and ambience above with its cool white LED under cabinet lighting and precision door illuminated border.

This innovative mirror also includes built-in USB charging points and double sided mirrored doors with heated pads on the outside doors to remove condensation.

The unit is finished with our Hansgrohe Metris Single Lever Basin Mixer, matching the design of the floor-standing bath mixer.

To the other side of the bathroom separate showering is provided with the inclusion of a space-saving corner shower unit from our Merlyn Collections. The Sleek 1 Door Quadrant is designed to nestle perfectly into any bathroom corner, with its curved glass edge creating a generous showering area and maximising usable space. This is paired with our Merlyn MStone Quad Shower Tray.

An invigorating shower experience is delivered with the innovative jet-technology of our Hansgrohe Raindance Select S Overhead Shower and Pulsify S Baton hand-shower.

Finishing touches also include the Saneux Prague CC WC Pan, Goodwood Central Heating Towel rail from our JIS collections, and a KEUCO shower basket to keep this area tidy.

“We are so pleased with our new bathroom. The showroom was such a great source of inspiration and we were able pick-up so many ideas, especially from the Coral room-set, and then the designers made them all come together to fit our space perfectly. They put us in-touch with Altria Heating who did such a great job installing the bathroom too, keeping us informed of progress every step of the way and keeping disruption to a minimum.”

All three bathrooms were fully designed and supplied by Surrey Tiles & Bathrooms.

Expert installation was delivered by Altria Heating.
